Why not try and decorate some plain Red Bells with friends/family, all you need is paint, glitter, ribbon or anything Christmassy!

Why not decorate some plain bells, you can get wooden ones but if looking for something cheeper of simpler you can use foam ones and put a hole in the top with ribbon!.

1. paint the bells red, green, silver, gold, etc.
2. while the paint is dry decorate!

get a box (red or green is nice and traditional but it doesn’t REALLY matter..)
some tissue paper (matching the box)
icing sugar
ribbon (a colour that goes well with box or contrasting ((red-blue, white-red- blue white, etc.)
1.Put the tissue paper in the box on the sides and bottom (use a bit of double sided tape or fold it over to stick it to the sides.)
2. put the biscuits in, you can sprinke some icing sugar over all of them once they’re in (you can either put the biscuits in randomly or in a ((3D)) pyramid)
3.put the lid on the box, put a card on top of wanted then tie ribbon on it which should hold the lid down and make it look pretty
4.you can tie a bow with the ribbon or stick a sticker on it or one of those things you can buy from supermarkets, newsagencies, etc. with plastic ribbon stuff.
5.OPTIONAL, you can glue some gold/silver stars on the top of the box or smear glue on it then sprinkle some glitter to give it a really cool affect, you can make the cards too which gives it a bit of a personal touch!

Makes 24

Ingredients
125g butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup (115g) caster sugar
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (225g) self-raising flour
1/2 cup (70g) custard powder
Silver and gold sparkling cachous, to decorate
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C. Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
Use an electric beater to beat the butter and sugar until pale and creamy. Beat in milk and vanilla extract. Fold in the flour and custard powder.
Press the dough into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to rest.
Divide the dough into manageable portions. Roll out one portion on a sheet of non-stick baking paper to about 1cm thick. Use Christmas cookie cutters to cut shapes and place on the trays. Decorate with cachous.
Bake for 10 minutes or until light golden. Cool for 5 minutes on the trays before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Repeat with remaining dough.

(I haven’t tried this recipe but it MIGHT work with out putting it in the fridge if you are really pressed for time but if you have the time put definately put it in the fridge for 30 minutes, I will make these tommorow (wednesday)!!
